Get past the resting bitch face syndrome and general grumpy persona and he's actually a really okay guy. Sure first impressions are important to him, but not that important to judge someone forever off of it. He cares for others well-being and would usually do small things to at least make problems less arduous for the person. He doesn't mind being being a test dummy and despite his complaining, he goes through with it anyway. Within reason of course. The closer one gets to him, the softer his personality seems to be.

Balancing out brains and brawn, tadpole here gives 110% on any task given to him. Almost to the point either to the point of exhaustion or stress. He is not very good at keeping a conversation going if not close enough and usually fades out of a convo faster than one can blink. Even though he's not much of a talker, he's a very good listener and could sit and listen to someone ramble and try to give advice when need be. Not much of a willing fighter, but he doesn't hesitate to step in for someone-- even if they deny wanting help. The more you know this man, the more playful you'll see him. Mostly in the form of light banter and around ferals.

This man may look like a law-abiding student, but he has his moments of rebellion and does things on his own accord. Thanks to most of his childhood, he has a hard time fully listening to authority figures and usually doesn't care the consequences. He's tends to stick by himself only cause he has no idea what just hanging around friends even mean. He went without them for most of his early life. He's a nervous, quiet wreck if invited anywhere. Stemming from that, he can be very dull on the terms anything. From talking or what to do for fun. He just doesn't know-- This man lets the past eat at his mind a whole lot and simply can't let go. This is cause his grandfather brings it up every. single. time. He is very confident in his skills, but tend to beat himself up when he doesn't meet his own standards. He doesn't set the bar for himself and believes anyone can do better than stick with him.

History: 

   Born in one of the poorest/worse districts, his father and older brother dead months before, Dominiq was left to the care of his grandparents in their small apartment while his mother began her mission to go to school to get her nursing degree and eventually her doctorate so they could finally escape from the city. While outside wasn't exactly safe, inside wasn't that bad for the small Dominiq. His grandparents gave him all the love he needed and so did a few neighbors in the building. They didn't have much, but Dom didn't mind it. Until he had to go to school.

   Dominiq wasn't the biggest kid around. In fact, he was actually the runt in comparison to his fellow classmates. This made him a target, but no one could match is speed and didn't realize he could fight back. Even though he came home bruised and battered almost every day, he still kept his head up high; seeing the bruises as small signs of victory. This worried his parents til no end, so his grandmother, a retired boxer who unfortunately was robbed blind by her manager, trained little Dom. This way at least he'll get stronger and come home with less bruising. He was also taught necessities like cooking, knitting, general housework his age range can handle while his grandfather taught him respect and how to control his temper.

   Fights in school became more manageable and Dom stopped the bullies from messing with him-- by beating them up instead. His grades improved and he was doing generally well now. Even though things seemed to be looking up, Dom still managed to find the wrong crowd to hang with. Longing to fit in somewhere, he was recruited into a gang at around 8-9 years old, being used, along with other kids, as either a informant, lookout, or errand boy. This has caused him to get brought home by cops on many occasions, which made his grandparents increasing disappointed in him. He didn't care. He fit in with something for the first time. Or so he thought.

   Dom soon learned of his wrong when his grandparents were sent to the hospital. His grandma had only minor injuries, but his grandpa was much more injured. Someone had broke into their apartment and attempted to rob them, hurting both of them in the process. Dom later learned it was fellow members of his own gang who had thought Dom was getting more than his fair share from the boss. This was an eye opener for the poor boy and immediately wanted out of the gang, returning everything they gave him. He went through one hell of a beating for wanting to leave, but they eventually let him go. After getting home from the hospital, Dominiq did everything he could to turn his life around. From helping the elderly mon in his building, apologizing to everyone, picking up his grades again, to even shutting himself indoors as a form of self-punishment. He only went to school and went home. Nothing in-between. He figured this was the best punishment-- especially now his grandpa didn't trust him anymore and always belittle him for his past actions.

   A light finally came to them when his mother came back to move them all out. It was a blessing. A new place, a new start. Much safer, and cleaner. Moving from Unova to Sinnoh was much of a culture shock to Dominiq. Lilypad town was smaller, had less people than the bustling Castelia, and everyone was a lot nicer. The peacefulness made him anxious and nervous. It was too overwhelming for the poor guy. He became the silent kid at his new school. Not associating with anyone, no matter how nice they were. He was not use to this at all. When he heard there was a coliseum in town, he wanted to participate. Since his mother had no time to bond with him most of his life, she decided to train him. Maybe this would get him to open up. While he wasn't great, Dom was enjoying every tournament he participated in. Learning from his mistakes and starting to feel good about himself. Even so much as evolving in the middle of one. Some of his classmates haven't seen a mon of his height and his expression didn't help his case. Most avoided him, fearing he would beat them up if they so much as look at him wrong. This hurt him and he ended up asking his mother if there was something to help him. She went out to the pet store and brought him home a companion for his birthday to curb his loneliness.

   His mother and grandparents wanted him to better himself even more and sticking to the same old routine with classmates that feared him wasn't going to do. The searched around and eventually cam across St. Mortiel. A great school where he could bloom. At first he protested, but gave in quickly seeing they made up their minds. At least his companion could go with him. He promised them he would make them proud. Become better than he once was. That is his lifetime goal, even though most of them were already proud without his knowing.

POST STM: Dominiq has had one of the biggest turnarounds in his entire life in the school after years of brooding and seclusion. Lots of therapy, training both mind and spirit, making friends, and even getting a girlfriend has helped this poor man with his problems even better than before. His personality, though still a lil grumpy, has improved in the past year. The night terrors died down significantly so now he can sleep better, though his body has to get use actually sleeping every night. His violent outbursts from when he first came to this place are now all gone and he finds it better to ignore his grandfather and go about his day. 
 
Cons: He still can't express his feelings or show gratitude like normal mon. Have patience with this dull giant.
